Ravenna is a city to be experienced with the eyes…and with the palate. With our Ravenna Unesco Tour & Cooking Class, we will take you among the most famous monuments and the most authentic flavors of Romagna.
We’ll begin with a guided walking tour of the historic center, led by a licensed guide and including skip-the-line tickets to the city’s top UNESCO monuments: the Basilica of San Vitale, the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia, the Basilica of Sant’Apollinare Nuovo, the Neonian Baptistery, and the Archbishop’s Museum. Along the way, we’ll admire breathtaking Byzantine mosaics and learn about Ravenna’s fascinating history.
After a break for a free lunch, you’ll meet a local chef at 3:00 PM in a charming location in the heart of the city for an engaging cooking class focused on the traditional piadina romagnola. The hands-on experience lasts about 90 minutes, and ends with a final tasting of freshly made piadina served with cold cuts, cheese, and a glass of local wine.
This tour is the perfect mix of art, history, and food – an ideal activity whether you’re visiting Ravenna on a cruise stop or during a short city break.
